Maths Café

April Newsletter
Time to kick the flu with some coding workshops and events. We will be a little quiet for the next few weeks, though, but never fear, we are working on some awesome workshops in the coming months.
Some wonderful news, we gave two free Javascript workshop tickets to An Cosán kindly donated by Dean McDonnell.
Coding Grace have teamed up with Digiwomen, Ireland Girl Geek Dinners, PyLadies Dublin and partnering with Irish Computer Society as part of TechWeek.ie and launched a diversity-friendly #weAREhere unconference on Sat, 25th April @ Guinness Enterprise Centre.
>> Tickets are available here.
I am also very excited to announce the Maths Café. It is for people who want to brush up on their school maths or who maybe never fully got it in the first place. We'll be using a new app, Slam, that supports face-to-face collaborative learning. What's more, all proceeds go to the R&D of Ireland's only entry (that we know of!) for the Global Learning XPRIZE, a competition to enable child-driven learning.
>> Tickets are available here.
Finally, here are some reads for this month via my pinboard that you might be interested in.
If you have any questions, drop us an email at contact@codinggrace.com.
WORK IN PROGRESS
Some workshops that I'm organising in the coming months:-
- Workshop as part of Silicon Republic's Inspirefest 2015 fringe events. Details to follow.
- I'm talking to an animator from Giant Animation on running a workshop in June.
- Processing (Creative coding) workshop
- Functional programming - make a game with F#
There has been lots of interest in more data visualisation and manipulation workshops. I'm also looking into running more game-related workshops. Will aim for summer, so stay tuned.
