Let's March Together!

💖It's International Women's Day this month, and there's lots of events happening around and we'll try to list as many tech-related ones here in the newsletter.

🌈I would like to draw your attention to a recently launched private online community for women in tech called Elpha, it was called Leap and backed by Ycombinator and now spun out on its own as an independent company, I've been a fan and user of the forum and has been very useful so far. It's free, you can join via https://elpha.com.

Coding Grace at Hopper Local / Dublin

I has a brilliant time demoing MicroPython on Micro:bit and CircuitPython on Circus Playground Express at the "Maker Workshop on Wearables" workshop at Hopper Local / Dublin on Feb 27, which is a one-day locally organized conference modelled after our Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC). Hopper Local / Dublin is the inaugural event and will launch an AnitaB.org Local Community in Ireland. Thanks to Stephen Howell for inviting me.

I was at iWish at RDS on Tue Feb 12, giving lightning talks about my journey from how I got into tech and to where I am right now. If you've never been to iWish or would like to talk about your experiences to teens who will be making their decisions on what to choose for their senior level in school, I highly recommend you get in touch with the iWish team. I had a great time catching up with friends and new faces at the recent Pi Jam hosted by TOG Hackerspace. Besides forgetting my power supply for my project, I made a start converting this cool Steven Universe Makecode to CircuitPython for my Circus Playground Express.
