Coding Grace May 2019 Newsletter

May the Tech be with You

May is here, that means summer has arrived. Cherry blossoms, sunshine, exam season, and so many wonderful events happening in Dublin and around Ireland. I'm extending my apologies for lack of Coding Grace workshops, do please prod me, I'm hoping to at least run workshops at least once per quarter. In the meantime, do check all the cool stuff happening this month. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš€I attended Dublin Tech Summit (huge thanks for the ticket), and was very lucky and blown away listening to Chris Hadfield about all the life-endangering encounters he and his team (and other astronauts) faced, and worked in.
"Early success is a terrible teacher, enforces bad habits. Look for failure, expose them."

โ€œVisualise failureโ€ as a leader. You will be calm and fixed those problems.
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽคWith him wrapping his keynote with his rendition of Bowie's Space Oddity. ๐Ÿš€

Chris Hadfield singing Space Oddity.

I mentioned last month that I'm Dublin Maker's new Maker Advocate based in DCU as part of the MADE (Maker Advocacy in Dublin for Everyone) programme funded by SFI. I hope to bring the Maker community together as well as raising the profile of Maker culture amongst many other goals of this role.
If you are or know someone who is interested in participating, the deadline for the open call is Wed May 15. Apply via http://www.dublinmaker.ie/open-call/

Want to keep this here so folks in and around Wexford can keep up to date with what they are up to.

If you are interested, you can sign up to their newsletter via http://eepurl.com/duzDSf.
