Coding Grace June 2019 Newsletter

Summer is here...
... but don't forget your umbrellas!
It's a mixed bag weather-wise but what hasn't changed is the amount of amazing events that are happening around Dublin (and Ireland).
I was at a few events last month, and this month, it will be a little bit quieter events-wise because of my new Maker Advocate role with Dublin Maker Team. I'll be busy with production on Dublin Maker Festival itself, which is on Sat Jul 20 in Merrion Square. Here's some highlights of some events I was at.

I was Inspirefest this year, and I was amazing! From meeting the awesome Julie who helped Coding Grace by asking her company, Symantec, donate 3 Pi-Tops last year to surprise guest, Jim Fitzpatrick to Erika Cheung who regaled her story of Theranos, it was certainly very gripping stuff. I can't wait for 2020 edition, I've already secured the Ultra Early Bird. More dets >>>
A big thank you to Evelyn who invited me to Technovation to give a keynote on my journey and why being part of the community can make a difference. I was blown away from all the enthusiasm of the students, their ideas, and their camaraderie of everyone who participated regardless if they won or not.

Mick and I were at Coolest Projects this year and had so much fun working with NI Raspberry Pi Jam folks running the DOTs board with Pi area. It took a few days to get rid of the black conductive paint, and it was a lot of fun.

We actually went up to Belfast the following Saturday to check out the NI Raspberry Pi Jam as I was curious how they run multiple tracks within 4 hours. If you are curious, you should check them out >>>

And finally, I am delighted to be part of Vessy's online Diversity and Inclusion Champions network on behalf of Coding Grace.
I'm looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences with this new community. 🌈

Want to keep this here so folks in and around Wexford can keep up to date with what they are up to.
If you are interested, you can sign up to their newsletter via http://eepurl.com/duzDSf.
