Coding Grace Feb 2020 Newsletter

Coding Grace Feb 2020 Newsletter

Love, love, love... your code! 🥰

It's Feb and there's 29 days this year!

One more extra day to leap (year) into something new, and play with fun tech. That's what I'm hoping to do, I'm currently writing a text-based adventure game that you can play and print with a mini-thermal printer depending on what buttons you clicked. And this is a project I'm hoping to get ready for Berlin Makerfaire in April. I hope to document my wee journey as a novice Maker. For those who don't know, my background is coding, so creative tech, here I come! 💪🏼

I was at BT Young Scientist last month demoing paper circuits at Fingal County Council stand, it was none stop answering questions on this cheap and cheerful project that you can make at home, school, libraries, anywhere! Dublin Chinese New Year Festival asked me to show people how to make Chinese New Year greeting cards and make them light up with paper circuits for two days. Huge thanks to Michael Twomey for helping me.

And most recently I was at iWish giving a lightning talk about my journey to where I am today to secondary school students at the RDS. I really recommend folks to get involved with iWish next year!

Good Luck!

Looking forward to having a chat with the students this afternoon in the entrepreneur zone. #IWish2020 #BeTheChange #DiversityInTech
