Coding Grace June 2020 Newsletter

Summer time is really here, hope you are keeping cool.
Sun is out and we are in Phase 1 on relaxing of lockdown restrictions, hope folks are enjoying the extra kilometres stretching your legs in the lovely weather.
Since last month, I've been trying to keep busy.
- Finally put up my blog of my journey from n00b to not being afraid of the sewing machine making fabric masks.
- Working on my new Maker project, generating art from data obtained from Circuit Playground Express and output it to TFT screen.
- Got my Grrrlzine Fair zine making kit, started creating first couple of pages based on my current obsession - Animal Crossing New Horizon*.
*Do you play? Ping me and maybe we should meet each other virtually on ACNH!
What are you working on? Share with us and I'll mention it in the next month's newsletter, email contact@codinggrace.com.

🌈 Your Support 🌈
🤔We are still interested in finding out what you are interesting in learning, especially now that we are indoors and would be a great opportunity to learn new skills.
🤲We mentioned this in our newsletter last month. We want to try and make Coding Grace sustainable, our huge expense is our accountant each year. So we are trying out Open Collective and we are open to donations from individuals and corporates. We are not-for-profit and it's wholly volunteer-based running it. Support Coding Grace

📍Where you will find me this month?
Like last month, I'll still be at home, but I'll be giving a 10 minute talk (variation of my PyLadies Dublin talk on my Maker project, Print your own adventure game" with Raspberry Pi, thermal printer, arcade buttons and all controlled with Circuit Python.) at EnthusiastiCon.

Big shout out to allthetechthings.com where we pulled information about Diversity/Grants and Call for Papers from around Europe.
Any enquiries (incl. CFPs, announcements, etc), you can drop me an email at contact@codinggrace.com.
Finally, we've only a couple of weeks till restrictions are slowly lifted and hopefully in time we will have more in-person events (ref: Irish Government's roadmap)
In the meantime, I hope everyone stay healthy and safe. #StayAtHome and #WashYourHands is ever so important right now, let's get through this together. 😷🧼
Thanks,
/// Vicky
