Coding Grace Jan 2021 Newsletter

Happy New Year to you all! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

๐ŸŒˆ I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break, and are raring to go and kickstart 2021 with gusto and vitality. Bring on new ventures, skills to learn, new connections and continued well-being to all.

โœŒ๏ธI'm continuing to maintain a list of Irish virtual tech events as the coronavirus is still affecting many around the world, and slow roll-out of vaccinations, it's going to be awhile before we have in-person events, maybe last quarter of this year? One can only hope.

Are you a member of an underrepresented or marginalised group?
Have you always wanted to become a tech conference speaker?
Let 2021 be the year that you make that dream a reality!
Sign up for a workshop in your region on Saturday, January 23rd 2021.

MONTHLY REGULARS

๐Ÿ› Are you working on a project? Share it with us, I'm happy to have you as a guest blog. Drop me an email at contact@codinggrace.com.

๐Ÿ˜“BTW, I've started to notice that Irish events listings by organisers on meetup and eventbrite are getting non-Irish events mixed in, so shifting through them takes a wee bit more time. But I hope the curated list of mainly Irish Tech and Diversity in Tech events we have in our monthly newsletter (and our live blog) is of use to you until we figure out how/when we can run our own workshops.

๐Ÿค”We are still interested in finding out what you are interesting in learning, especially now that we are indoors and would be a great opportunity to learn new skills.

๐ŸŒˆ Your Support ๐ŸŒˆ

Last year, we wanted to try and make Coding Grace sustainable, our largest expense is our accountant each year. We are happy to continue using Open Collective and we are open to donations from individuals and corporates. We are not-for-profit and it's wholly volunteer-based running it.

Support us on Open Collective

๐Ÿ†• Did you know that we have set up a page on Github Sponsors?
You can read about it if you are curious on how this platform supports the open source community (projects, organisations like ours, etc) via github.com/sponsors.

Support us on Github Sponsors

Huge thanks to our supporters who contributed to our Open Collective fund in 2020. Every little counts as we really appreciate it. Above is the screenshot of our supporters via opencollective.com/coding-grace.

๐Ÿ“Where have I've been (remotely) last month?

๐Ÿ“Where am I this month?

If you have something to share in our reading, podcast or video list, drop me an email.

Coding Grace's DEV Profile

We are also on dev.to, it's a platform for devs to post what they are up to, and we are cross-posting to it ourselves. We are open to folks share articles with us, and if you are also on the platform, please follow us. If you want to contribute, I will send you the key to join us.

Any enquiries (incl. CFPs, announcements, etc), you can drop me an email at contact@codinggrace.com.

Finally, I know I'm repeating myself every month, but I hope everyone stay healthy and safe.

Thanks,

/// Vicky
