๐ŸŽ‰ Welcome to our new platorm for our bi-monthly newsletter. Due to Jan newsletter not being able to make it out, there will be a special highlight of what happened in Jan and what's going to be happening in Feb in our next official newsletter

I have migrated the posts from Substack to here on Ghost, so you can find the archive of post newsletters. ๐Ÿ’–

We will be back to our bi-monthly publication from March onwards, thanks for your patience. ๐Ÿ™

Why the switch?

๐Ÿค” I have been mulling over moving from Substack, but we are only a year on it since the previous move from

๐Ÿ’ก Then I read Molly White's post on why she's moving, and I felt determined to move to somewhere ๐Ÿ’ช. There's not many places left (and I'm not moving back to Mailchimp and still sad Revue is gone). Molly and many others have chosen the open-source platform called Ghost. You can pay for them to host or you can self-host. I chose the latter. Casey Newton also recently moved from Substack to Ghost.

๐Ÿ™Œ I can share Twitter (not saying the other word) links and they self-embed! I missed this, reason why I chose Revue, and then Substack (before they were blocked embedding tweets). Let's try something else...

Mastodon Migration (@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online)
Substack Migration Roll Call Those moving off of Substack will likely lose subscribers. For many this is their livelihood. Their principle and courage should be rewarded. Known Substack migrants are listed below. Please consider subscribing to them. If youโ€™ve migrated off Substack, please provide the name, new URL, and a brief description in a reply. Will add mentions into the top comments. To the Substack migrants, you rock! Thank you for your bravery and resolve. #SubstackMigration

๐Ÿ™Œ And I can also share Mastodon links as well which self-embeds!

๐Ÿ› We have been playing around with Ghost with another Coding Grace's initiative (will announce very soon) and I'm confident this is a good option for our bi-monthly newsletter.

๐Ÿคž Hopefully the transition will be grand and no-one who have subscribed will need to do anything. I'll be doing a quick post on our substack to let folks know of the move.

๐Ÿ“ฐ Folks are free to unsubscribe at any time (please don't, we will miss you ๐Ÿฅฒ), and for those staying with out, let us know if you come across any issues, and of course, anything you want us to include in our upcoming newsletters.

๐ŸŽ‰ Here's to a great 2024!
