Still calling it late summer

What a summer we had, I know it's technically start of autumn, but let's try and keep summer going a wee bit longer, shall we? Now who's ready for some news, tidbits, CFPs, events (there's lots of diversity events coming up) and all that jazz? 🎶

The Royal Visit I was honoured to be invited to participate in the diversity in tech roundtable by Dogpatch Labs and Kensington Palace during the Royal visit last month. It was a pleasure to have an engaging discussion with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex alongside Ann O'Dea (CEO, Silicon Republic), Brian MacCraith (President, DCU), Aine Mulloy (CMO, Girl Crew), Julie Sinnamon (CEO, Enterprise Ireland), Nora Khaldi (Founder, Nuritas), Giustina Mizzoni (Executive Director, Coder Dojo) chaired by Liz McCarthy (Head of Special Projects, Dogpatch Labs).

I attended first Dublin Games Summit and besides attending the indie and education tracks, I met one of the visiting speakers, Jo Summers who's the executive producer of Global Game Jam and I found out about GGJ Next, which is a game jam for 12 - 17 year olds during summer. I think this is awesome, so if you want to run a game jam, even if you don't know how to, they have a lot of content to get you going. So check it out at ggjnext.org. 👾🎲

On Python-releated news, I'm also delighted to announce that I'm staying on PSF Grants Workgroup whom we work closely with the PSF Board, last year we handled 220 applications for funding Python-related events and awarded over US$257,000. ❤️🌈🙌🐍

As per my previous newsletters, there's still lots happening although I'm still collaborating running other workshops than running Coding Grace only workshops.
