Coding Grace Sep-Oct 2026 Newsletter
๐ The leaves on my tree in the back garden have wilted and starting to fall, the heat of summer is now well and truly behind us. And on the bright side, we are coming into conference season, and more events are coming our way!
๐ข Big announcement that we have refreshed our Code of Conduct as well as added a new policy about smart glasses and discrete recording in our events. You can read our announcement and find the code of conduct here: https://codinggrace.com/news/coc-policy-update/

๐ Coding Grace is back at ShipItCon! We will be running the community table again, with custom designed and hand-made (with help with my handy cricut) stickersheets featuring some of the active tech communities around Dublin. We have zines as well as stickers. If you are going to ShipItCon, drop by the community table, we are beside the All Island Maker Mobility table with other makers. We are also running the Maker competition based on the theme: FRICTION - all materials provided. If you haven't got a ticket yet, head over to shipitcon.com.

๐ We are all set to run our Introduction to Python and Electronic workshop series which will be starting this week (Sat, 5th September, 11:00-12:30) hosted by The Digital Hub.
๐ช We still have a few places left. For anyone who's interested but cannot join us this time, do register your interest so we can run similar Python and Electronic workshops in the future.
๐ The workshop series is funded by an award by the Dublin City Council Community Grant Scheme 2026. If you are interested, you can sign up your interest in the workshops, and you will be notified when the tickets become available.

I'm delighted to be back as judge again for the Diversity Inclusion Tech Awards this year. Well done to the finalists and here's the list if you are curious. Tickets are available for the annual event taking place at The Gibson Hotel on 17th September.

I was also one of the judges for this year's NIDC, a big fan myself of this community-led conference for the community, I highly recommend it if you haven't been to it before, a great way to meet the local tech community in Northern Ireland. It takes place on Saturday, 21st November at International Convention Centre (Belfast). The agenda will be published this month, can't wait to see the talks selected, and hope to see you there also.

๐ Coding Grace is a non-profit and we are volunteers running all the activities from curating events listings, running this newsletter, advocating diversity in tech through events, speaking engagements, and collaborations. As a registered company, our main expenses which includes accountancy fees, bank fees, and zoom.
